1 Year of Perfect Nonsense

Next week (on Thursday, to be exact) YWU turns 1 year old (!!!)

I wanted to do something cool to commemorate this momentous occasion, and my first idea was to draw 7 new strips so I could post one strip a day during the week leading up to YWU's "birthday," starting with tomorrow.

YEEEAH. That's not going to happen in this lifetime, now is it, friends? YWU strips don't bend to a schedule very nicely, and they tend to occur to me when they feel like it, especially as they are usually based on real life events. (Didn't you know? YWU is 100% factual! :P)

So my new idea is to print out the best 20 YWU's as a little book. (I'm not talking high-tech, high-gloss printing here...I'm talking some plain white paper and staples, and maybe a piece of coloured construction paper for the cover if I go all out!) I will then mail these little books out to YWU's many many fans worldwide. I trust I won't go bankrupt from postage ;)

If you have a favourite strip that you want to see in the collection, let me know!

I did not have time to draw a comic this week (no, seriously, if you think I'm exaggerating about not having 15-odd seconds...WEEK OF DOOM going down over here!) However, I did put together this detailed tutorial, so that you can now draw your very own YWU whenever I fail miserably at updating.

You will need:
1. Three roughly equal-sized squares on a paper
2. Something to write/draw with (fine-tipped marker is best)
3. The art skills of an average 5-year-old

YWU #21 will be up by this weekend, after which the comic should resume updating in its usual quasi-regular fashion.
